Asthma patient turned down for Life cover

I am a 52 year old female. I recently app**** to Momentum for a Life cover. I disclosed all the chronic medication I take and that I am a moderate asthmatic and take chronic medication for this.

The lung function test showed that I have a moderate blockage in my lungs. Which according to my GP is normal. Momentum sent their dr and they declined the policy. I did the test twice. Second with my GP which I paid for out of my own pocket. The GP explained that the lung function is calibrated for a normal lung and the various readings have to be interpreted. My readings were showing that my asthma was there but it was well under control as some levels were way above those of an asthmatic.

Just wanted to inform others out there that we are now discriminated against our illnesses.
