2020 tax certificate
This is not a grievance. Rather a request. On 14 April 2020 I received an SMS that Momentum is preparing my Tax certificate for my Retirement Annuity GE***. I spoke to their Investo call center on 15 May and was given a vague answer as to when I would get my 2*** tax certificate. What I don’t understand is if Momentum knows that it is at this time every year tax payers need their documents in order to prepare their tax submissions why the aforementioned documents are so slow in coming every year. Particularly as the tax certificates for RA’s are quite simple.Please advise.

19 May 2020, 11:10Thank you for taking the time to inform us of your concerns pertaining to the 2020 Retirement Annuity contribution certificates. I am truly sorry if the information provided by our contact center was vague and caused some frustration. Unfortunately we cannot currently give you an exact date on which the Momentum Retirement Annuity contribution certificates will be made available to our clients. The process of issuing these contribution certificates requires some interactions between the insurer and SARS prior to the certificates being made available to our clients. For Momentum this process has already commenced and is still ongoing. I can assure you that we are doing everything possible to issue the Retirement Annuity contribution certificates as quickly as possible. We currently anticipate that it should be made available to our clients within the next month to allow you sufficient time to prepare your tax submissions prior to the 1 September 2020 SARS individual income tax return filing date. Your Retirement Annuity contribution certificate will be e-mailed to you as soon as it is available. Kind regardsCK
