Waiting a month for an assessor, no feedback, very poor service. Do not recommend at all.

My wife was in a motor vehicle collision on December 9th, She is thankfully fine, after being broadsided by an irresponsible driver. Her car was insured by Momentum. It took about 10 days for Momentum to organise a tow truck to remove the vehicle to take it to the assessor. To date, nearly a month later, we have no word whatsoever as to the result of our claim. When we follow up, we are scolded that we didn't "engage" with the assessor. We have never received the assessors details, or had so much as a call from Momentum apart from the initial towing, so we have no one to follow up with. We follow up daily through our broker and hear nothing from Momentum. So we pay diligently every month, we responsibly insure our vehicles,, and after nearly a month we hear absolutely nothing from Momentum. Delay paying, pay less, don't pay seems to be the Momentum strategy. If you were an Alexander Forbes client who was moved to Momentum when AF sold their short term book, and you are expecting the same level of service as you were used to, you are in for a disappointment. Your debit orders will be faithfully charged every month, but best of luck to you should you put in a claim. What is the point of short term insurance that has no urgency whatsoever in dealing with claims?
