Understated Value for Good
We had an electrical sage at our house, in the process lost 2 Decoders and 2 TVs. The decoders were on the someday replaced by Multichoice even upgraded one - Thank God. Now with the TVS which are under Household insurance with Alexander Forbes, First it took them 3 days to send an assessor, it took the 3 days again to come up with an understated value for my goods to be replaced. I bought my TV in 2009 for R21,999 from research conducted it was entry level in to the higher end product, they are offering to replace my TV for a value of 8500.00. The TV replacement is not even at the same range as the old TV I had which is a downgrade. Alexander Forbes when you are insuring your good they ask you for the VALUE of your goods which I calculated based on the receipts I have. Surely they are happy to charge more installments and pay less. I have gone to two reputable insurance service providers who have given quotes on the TV comparing what it was then and what it will be now and their quote is R15,000 a fair enough amount for me to get a decent TV and they still reject it. Why am I insured based on values when seriously undermine the value placed on my goods. They seriously do not consider your value when it comes to the replacement.
This is very very wrong
