unclaimed provident fund disapeared

my dad's former employer had alexa forbes (Anglo platinum )for his profident before moving to sanlam, when he resigned in 2009 he only got money from sanlam which was 272k which sanlum confirmed that he joined them in 2008 i am happy with the money from sanlam. he never got anything from alexa forbes and when i phoned the call centre i was told that he doesnt have thw account with them. my father is certain that they had alexa forbes as the scheme. my question is , where is my father's money for almost 25 years working in the mines he only got 272k from sanlam for period of 2 ********** . and from alexa forbes there is nothing from late 1979 to 2007. i find it a bit ***** that my dad's money is no traceble in your company.
