On the 30th April 2026, I contacted Momentum Insure for insurance on a new vehicle and I spoke to Siyanda Mkhize. I was not happy with the premium that they were offering, Siyanda said once we are done he will transfer me to retention where I will be offered a discount. Siyanda failed to inform me that once I am being transferred to retention the insurance is a done deal. I spoke to someone else at retentions , discount was granted and still was not happy with the premium, I then advise that they should call me after 1pm a as I need to speak with my partner. Please note that at this stage I did not agree to taking the insurance with Momentum, I then proceeded to take insurance with Iwyze. Unfortunately the deal fell off and I ended up not purchasing the vehicle. On the 8th May 2026, a debit order goes on my account for R2K for the new vehicle, I give Momentum a call on Monday to get information, I was then told that I took the insurance on the 30th, which I told them I did not. They went back to listen to the call and came back to inform me that I did agree to the insurance . Which is a lie and that automatically when I am transferred to retentions it means I am taking insurance. Because I am still within the 14days colling period, I request the new insurance to be cancelled and that I revert back to the old one with old car as it was not traded in anymore. Momentum is refusing to reinstate the old cover and the new premium now for a 2019 vehicle is R1867.73 from R1465.69 and this is ridiculous. I have been a client with Momentum for more than 7years and this was going to be my 3rd vehicle covered with them I am very disappointed and the service that I have received and will be taking my business elsewhere.
