Treating honest clients like ********* not to pay a claim

After being a AF client for nearly 2 years and I've only submitted a claim for a cellphone which was damaged. We had an incident where the wheels and sound system was ****** from a vehicle. We submitted a claim on 19 Dec'16. Up to date this claim hasn't been finalized and a person has to beg for feedback. First there was an issue with the premium that didn't go off yet I requested for AF to do a force debit. That was the reason why the claim couldn't be finalized. Eventually when that was resolved, the matter is still not finalized. Jabu Mlangeni is never available when you call him. He doesn't find the need to respond to mails. Eventually when I got hold of the Claims Manager Kerry Britz she informed me that they are doing a full investigation because we didn't disclose that the vehicle doesn't have an engine in. The engine was taken out and sent to the Mechanic as it was seized . There is nowhere for this to be disclosed on the claim form. When the investigator asked us about this prior to the full investigation being launched, we disclosed that to him. So why don't AF and the investigator correspondent? What other reason will you possibly look for not to pay the claim?

Thank you for the automated response which means absolutely nothing. After you said that someone would be contacting us shortly no one has called. Again we had to call in and no one was available not Jabu Mlagheni or Kerry Britz. Then I requested to speak to Shirley Burger which is the head of Claims then informed me that the claim will be taken to the claims meeting to decide whether or not the claim will be paid or rejected. Because of unpaid premiums and a car that was apparently not road worthy. The question was never posed whether the car had a engine in or not. With the anniversary of the policy the question was not asked nor was it asked if there where any incidents or not. How can we be at blame if the sales and claims advisor didn't do their jobs? If we were informed we would have gladly canceled the policy or asked what the way forward would be? Now after collecting close to 70k worth of premiums we are left in a very difficult situation. We do not have a high loss ratio. If this claim is rejected we will definitely be taking the matter to the short-term Ombudsman and cancelling our short-term and life insurance policies with AF.

For an R11 000 claim you want to tarnish the reputation of your brand after collecting close to 70k. If you don't want to pay the claim then gladly refund me all my premiums for the past 2years and I will resolve the matter myself and be sure to know that I will discuss the manner this claim WA's handled with everyone that I do business with and we both work for a reputable financial institution.
