The most unfair treatment by an insurance company

I took a car insurance from Alexander forbes in July last year (2016), since then I have made to claims. The first one was for a highjacking in October 2016 and the other was for a car accident where someone hit me from behind at a freeway. When I made the first claim the company that was fixing my car as recomended by them took almost two months to fix it and the excuse I was given was that the insurance took longer to authorise the job. This after they had already approved the claim and gave me a courtesy car.

The second claim in January 2017 was worse, for what looked like a minor dent on the bumper, it took them almost 03 months to fix, again this is a company that was recomended by them.

Futhermore, the towing company took my car to a yard somewhere where my goods were ****** from the car, including the spare wheel.

When I followed up with the insurance I have been given all sorts of runarounds and to this day I do not have my sparewheel and the items that were there, which are supposed to be covered are still not recovered.

The last I heard from them was that they will take my claim to some committee this coming friday and give feedback.

While I am still waiting for this, must i mention that this is an incident that happened in january and again the Assesor took about a month to authorise repairs, then worst happens.

Today they call me to inform me of their intention to cancel my insurance and are therefore giving me 30 days to find another insurance.

I dont know how these things work but I am sure they should have had the courtesy to atleast finalise the claim and then advise me of their intentions.

This is the worst insurance experience ever because even the

Hello Peter, please advise how does one go about in handling these things because more than the loss that I have sufered, Iam worried that this will give me bad insurance record and make it impossible for me to get insurance.

Can I be held liable for incidents that are not even my fault. I did not ask to be highjacked and for the accident, I asked them to follow-up with the police and the insurance of the other party because I feel that I was not in the wrong since they hit me from behind in a freeway. I was told that after this claim has been settled, they will then follow up on this matter. Now I feel that this is unfair because they should atleast finalise my claim and then advise if they want to cancel my cover.

Regards,

Aphelele Ntumbu

**********
**********
