SAVING COST COMPROMISE THE SAFETY OF CLIENTS

I’m very disappointed with the repairs done on my car by momentum insurance after having being involved in an accident on the 18th March 2017.

Two months after the car was at the repairer of their choice I was informed the car was ready for collection and that repairs was completed.

On the 18th May 2017 I collected a vehicle from the repairer of their choice and and I drove off half a kilometre from there a vehicle reported ABS failure subsequent to this DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) malfunction which I never experienced before the car was involved in an accident. Then the fault cleared from the cluster desk within 60 seconds as I drove off to my destination. I may not a machanic but I am of the opinion that this is related the accident as the rear right exel/ wheel was damaged.

On the 19th May 2017 morning I drove and went to the repairer informing them of this error and I was told that is normally and then I left without them offering to conduct a diagnosis on the reported fault.

Later that night I drove off to Polokwane and the same fault were reported again while I was in the middle of nowhere then the car dicided to switch off in the middle of the road. Luckily there was no vehiclesales behind me with could have resulted in an accident.

1. I’m unhappy because the car has being with repairer for almost two months and quality of work done is questionable.

2. Necessary care was not taken in ensuring that vehicle suspension is fixed in terms of manufacturers standards.

3. Both repairer and the insurance are unable to provide me with a turnaround time as to when will they complete the repairs on this car considering that this could have being fixed should necessary professional care was exercise during the repairing of my vehicle,

4. I’ve made suggestion to the repairer that the car be taken to BMW dealership since they have failed in their bit to fix it, however my suggestion was dismissed as I was told that my car is out of warranty.

5. The repairer nor insurance company is willing to all east provide me with a courtesy vehicle, while I acknowledge that such request wasn’t made, but both parties were informed accordingly of my absence of alternative transport.

I’m not a machanic but given the nature and extend of the damage to the suspension/ wheel/exel the replacement and repairs should have been inclusive of electronics componentso as this will at least provide reasonable safety assurance on the road as well as the fellow road users.

It would be appreciated if the insurance can consider the use of BMW dealership in REPAIRINGNMM ABS/ DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) and that the car repairs are completed within this week.

While I acknowledge that my car is out of warranty, however this does not mean my life should be put in danger for the sake of cutting costs or keeping cost as low as possible and it is aging insurance responsibility to conduct quality assessment on the work done and that the repairing be done by people who will take necessary care and emphasize with the clients,

***
