In September 2024, I was the victim of a hijacking incident. At the time, I was insured with Momentum, having joined their insurance service on 29 March 2024. Upon submitting my claim to Momentum, I was informed that the claim was rejected due to a cancellation initiated by my previous insurer, Discovery. However, I am the one who canceled my policy with Discovery, following a series of unresolved issues that I did not fully understand. My final premium payment to Discovery was deducted in March 2024, after which I immediately transitioned to Momentum. On 4 April 2024, I received an email from Discovery stating that my policy had been canceled retroactively to January 2024. This meant I was unknowingly uninsured from January to March, despite premiums being deducted during that period.
