Momentum Short Term Insurance Failure
Momentum deceives its clients when they sell out short term insurance. Me and my wife were involved in an accident on the 5th of Dec 2020. We were collided into by a drunk driver. The third party fled the scene leaving his vehicle, thereafter we attempted to contact Momentum which we failed in doing due to no answer. We eventually got assistance from a towing company who informed us that after scanning Momentum was picked up as our insurer. Our car was towed and shortly after we arrived home we received a phone call from Momentum Road Assistance checking on our well being. In the conversation we had with this consultant we informed him that we had had an issue with the premium needing to be reversed. We highlighted this as a concern due to fear of no cover. He advised that we are covered as the policy is active. We attempted to contact Momentum on the Friday earlier to make an arrangement which to which there was no answer. We called on 7th Dec 2020 to begin the process and register a claim but we were told that the policy had been cancelled. To our surprise no communication had been sent out to confirm this. We were referred to the policy schedule which states that after a debit order is "stopped" automatic cancellation takes place. No email, telephonic or mobile communication has been made still and we are stuck needing to cover all costs. Momentum has not reverted to an internal complaint that we have laid against them neither has anyone reached out to try reach a solution to this.
