Momentum Bicycle insurance Personal all risk BEWARE DO NOT INSURE WITH MOMENTUM

All cyclers beware. Please do not make the horrible mistake I made to insure our valuable assests with Momentum. PLEASE DO read this before you make the terrible mistake and choose to go with Momentum.Because when you realise this it will be too late. Take the time to find some other insurance company instead .

As long as Momentum can deduct your premiums from you they will be happy but regret the unfortunate occurs and you need to claim , they will treat you with gross disrespect.
The last thing one needs after being ****** is to be treated unfairly by your insurer but I can assure you that this is exactly what Momentum will do. They will drag your matter as long as possible and request from you all sorts of information and documents that violates your right to privacy that according to them will apparently validate your claim. But the things that they request from you has no relevance to your claim whatsoever.

My wife and I suffered a terrible mugging while taking a early evening cycle.
Three guys attacked us. One of them sprayed some chemical in my eyes that made me feel like I was going blind and took our bicycles , wedding rings, our spor****ches and a few other goods we had on us at the time. I then had my eyes examined by a doctor and then reported the matter to the police within hours . I was afraid I might suffer some pernmanent eye damage if I did not have it treated immediately.

A few days after I submitted a claim with Momentum I was contacted by a claims investigator named Leon Prozesky. I was interrogated like a ****** suspect with disrespectful questions such as - where did I get the money to buy these goods, what my income is? Photographs was taken of me, details of my cycling gear was requested, why my wife wanted a second hand ring?,
To give them consent to go in to phone records to do billing and beacons eventhough I am not insured for the phone. To give details of people from whom I bought things almost a year ago.
I was just constantly treated with no respect as if I am ****. They will misuse and abuse the term in the contract that says ' you need to comply with our reasonable instructions and request e.g . after paying you for your ****** vehicle, we may need your assistance in identifying it should the police recover it. They will mislead you with such a nice example but in practice they will request things from you that are grossly unreasonable and violates your constitutional rights. This is the 4th week after my claim has been made and I'm yet in the dark. It is common cause that insurance should be an agreement based on good faith but Momentum does not understand what good faith is.

Momentum will gladly accept your money but the moment you need them they treat you like a **** and a cheat. When the policy was taken out with Momentum we were informed that Momentum settles claims within a 4-5 day period but Iam on my way a month.

Another concern is that a few weeks after the incident occured I contacted Momentum and spoke to a consultant named James to have my premium adjusted because I no longer have the goods that were ****** from me. His reply was that I will still have to pay for these goods eventhough I no longer have it because the matter is not yet finalized. I then asked him how can someone pay insurance for something they do not have? He just continued to say exactly the same thing. I cannot believe this . I think this might be a joke and Leon schushter would perhaps pop out somewhere and say I was pranked but no Leon schushter is appearing. This company is conducting cartoon business. Do not for one moment think that you can rest in the peace of mind that you are covered if you with them.

Staff is very unprofessional and unreasonable. This company is a ****. They do not abide by the contract they have with their clients, they will constantly suck rules out of their thumbs and add it to the agreement that is convenient to them at a particular time without your consent.

An example of this is , I asked Leon Prozesky to forward me a copy of the verbal communication we had because I would like to confirm a few things that he told me I agreed to give him. When I requested
this information , I received an email where he informs me that " unfortnately the verbal communication is only made available after the claim is finalized". The contract has no mention
of this and I told him about this and also informed him that the contract mentions " this document ( policy document) together with your schedule , any written correspondence and verbal agreements, form the basis of the contract between you ( the policy holder ) and us" I then told him If any verbal agreements forms part of the basis of the agreement then withholding it can be considered a contravention of conducting business in good faith and fairly. It is only reasonable and fair that both parties in an agreement have copies of the agreement. It has been a week and yet i did not receive a response to this.

IM JUST UTTERLY DISGUSTED!!

We are so sorry that you had to go through such a traumatic ordeal, and that you experienced our claims assessment process to be impersonal and unnecessarily drawn out.

The matter has been escalated to the relevant team manager, who will then contact you telephonically to provide you with an update on your claim.

Kind Regards

Reviewer Update

I was not contacted by a team manager telephonically as promised. Two weeks has passed and I am still in the dark. I submitted my claim over a month ago. Personal all risk? Probably meaning that the client takes all the risk.
