Heaviest heart every time I look at my car and every time I see other looking at it aswell

15th May 2017, A day that still brings tears to my eyes when I relive it. Monday morning rush hour on my way to take kids to school, traffic was worse than usual and according to my gps waze suggested that I detour and take the next off ramp which was Watermeyer. I live in Pretoria east so every morning drive on the N4 towards Hatfield to drop off the kids then go to work so on this specific Monday I ended going onto Watermeyer. At some point in the traffic I over took a white man in a white Ford Ranger bakkie CH62WZGP, this man then felt like I somewhat was unfair or wrong with what I had done which I personally didn't agree with cause there was more than enough space for me to go in hence no accident happened. Anyway I could tell from my rear view mirror that he wasn't pleased, honestly he lookd like he was overall having a bad morning. We carried on driving with him behind me flashing his lights at me, as a woman alone with kids I started feeling very anxious cause I could see that he wasn't going to stop, we continued driving with him behind and I could see that he was shouting and flashing his lights for almost a good 2km. We started approaching the robot by Mierie Naude and Cussonia street and I realized that the traffic light was going on orange meaning I by the time I approach there I wont have a choice but to stop and I was very scared cause I could tell this man was going to do something the moment I stop. We get to the robot and I stop, this man comes to my left side opens his window and starts screaming, I tell the kids to ignore him and just look ahead, he continued to shout till eventually he decided to accelerate and drive straight into my car. He drove straight into my left car door where my child was siting and rammed right into it with his bakkie that had bull bars! We all started screaming and crying, he pulled a zap sign then drove off. I tried to stay calm for the sake of the kids and the fact that we are actually in the mist of traffic, the Ford had already drove off so I continued driving to my kids school and only when I got there did I stop the car and go out to see the damage cause, my whole back door was completely damaged. It's all gone in and some paint even removed. I checked if it still opens and closes and luckily it did, I then proceeded to go straight to the Police station to give an accident report. I explained to them aswell that it was a hit and run but thankfully I had memorized the plate from the moment he started flashing and intimidating me. I went on to call my Insurance Alexander Forbes and explained to them what had happened, very emotional and traumatized I beg them to please locate this man as I have given them his registration and the cops told me insurances can track him. Alexander Forbes told me that they wouldn't be locating him as yet, right now my concern should be to get quotes and car evaluated. I did all that (under the assumption that Alex would handle this via 3rd party claims and I shouldn't have to worry). About a week later I call again to check progress and when I can go book my car in at the panelbeaters, I was then told that I'm expected to pay R13500 for them to authorize the claim. I disputed this and "my case"was then taken to legal, till this very day I have not heard anything from Alexander Forbes.I made contact again in November asking how far my supposed case is and all they said is it's still with legal and that I send my car registration certificate which I did almost immediately . In January I made a conscious decision to not pay my premiums as I realized that I'm probably been taken for a ride. I am approaching almost a year now driving a horribly damaged car but I had insurance that I was paying every single month religiously. This all makes me emotional every time I think of that morning and the fact that my children needed medical attention and counselling for the trauma that man put us through and it honestly saddens me that Alexander Forbes couldn't have been more unsympathetic to us and what we went through, them failing to explain to me how and why they aren't following up this guy after I gave them his registration is still one of my biggest confusions. It is so embarrassing that I am still driving around in a badly battered car and my kids will never forget because every morning they wake up to see their mothers car the way it is and remember what happened. I would really truly appreciate some justice please
