Do we have ethics, decency and integrity at MomenCar Insurance out of the window and opportunism as the name of the game?

Driving a Nissan Micra in the middle lane on Grayston Drive over the highway bridge to Wynberg in the lunch time traffic of a Friday, a large Mercedes Bakkie - insured by Momentum - travelling in the right line recklessly swerved in front of me, and his left back wheel collided with my right front fender. He pulled into the left lane further on, I pulled up behind him, and he offered that I should meet him the next Monday at his friend, a panel beater around the corner to have the car fixed, which he saw as a minor damage. On phoning him later that it would be better for me to involve my insurance, he suggested that there was no need for it because of his friend. When my insurance contacted Momentum - damages amounting to R15 000 - Momentum on behalf of the insured claimed that his offer to have the car fixed at his panel beater friend was no admission, and rejected the claim on the basis that I swerved into him driving on the left. I wonder how I could have done this, swerving into him from the right, hitting his left back wheel with my right fender. But Momentum accepts this, and further, rejects the testimony of a passenger in my car as not being independent. How’s that for opportunism and seeing what can be gotten away with. I wonder how this ties in with Momentum’s business ethics. It seems worthy of broadcasting! Eckhard Rodenwoldt ***
