***** – DISPUTE OVER TYRE & RIM CLAIM AND INCREASED PREMIUMS
**MOMENTUM INSURANCE – DISPUTE OVER TYRE & RIM CLAIM AND INCREASED PREMIUMS**
I am extremely dissatisfied with the manner in which Momentum handled my insurance claim and the subsequent impact it had on my insurance premiums and risk profile.
I had comprehensive vehicle insurance with Momentum. I was later sold additional **Tyre & Rim Cover**. Before purchasing it, I specifically asked whether the tyre and rim cover was part of my existing vehicle insurance. I was clearly told that it was **not part of the vehicle insurance and was an additional cover**.
On **19 November 2022**, I submitted a claim relating to a tyre. My understanding was that this claim would be dealt with under the additional Tyre & Rim Cover that I had specifically purchased.
However, I subsequently discovered that the claim had been recorded as a **vehicle insurance claim**, apparently without my knowledge or informed consent.
This then had serious consequences for me. I received **threats of cancellation**, my insurance premium increased significantly, and I was treated as a **high-risk vehicle claimant**.
I find this extremely concerning because I specifically purchased additional Tyre & Rim Cover and had asked Momentum whether it was separate from my comprehensive vehicle insurance. If Momentum represented that it was separate cover, I do not understand why a claim under that cover was subsequently used in a manner that negatively affected my vehicle insurance risk profile and premiums.
I want Momentum to provide a clear explanation of:
* Why my 19 November 2022 tyre claim was recorded as a vehicle insurance claim; * Under which policy/cover the claim was actually processed; * How this claim affected my risk rating and premiums; * Why I was threatened with cancellation; * Whether the claim was reported to any external claims or underwriting database; * Why I was treated as a high-risk vehicle claimant; and * What information was provided to me when the Tyre & Rim Cover was sold.
**What I want from Momentum:**
I want the claim classification to be investigated and corrected if it was incorrectly recorded. I want my risk profile and premiums to be reassessed without the disputed claim if appropriate, and any financial loss or overpayment resulting from the incorrect classification to be addressed.
I also want Momentum to provide me with the relevant claim records, policy documentation and, importantly, the **recording/transcript of the conversation in which the Tyre & Rim Cover was sold to me**, as I specifically asked whether the cover was part of my vehicle insurance.
This is not simply about a tyre claim. It is about the **accuracy of my insurance record, the advice I received when purchasing additional cover, and the financial consequences that followed**.
I am now considering/escalating the matter through the appropriate insurance complaints and Ombud processes because I believe this issue requires an independent review.
I would appreciate a substantive response from Momentum addressing these specific issues rather than a generic response directing me to customer service.
