Claim process taking too long

I recently got my laptop ****** from me and AF is taking too long to approve my claim which according to them is due to "no proof of ownership" which i had stated on my initiation phone call that i do not have a receipt for it as it was bought a while ago and the agent said it was not a problem. Now all of a sudden it is needed!!??
