Car taken for a quote to repair dents.

My parent's car was sent to Renew-it for a quote to fix a few dents. The car is old and my parents are in their mid-seventees.

They have been with AF for 35 years and never claimed.

Now they receive a mail stating the car is written off. How do you write off a car with a few dents from the hail. Not even bad ones.

Then when we said don't worry, just give it back we were told to pay a salvage fee and I don't know what elese. WHAT *******

If you not paying, then just return it.

As discussed telephonically we do not want this car written off as it only has a few dents. Somebody is getting ********** here and it’s not going to be us. Please just return the vehicle to us urgently in the same condition as renew-it received it. We will take this further if needed. The lady at renew-it says to me on the phone that they will refer us to someone who does hail damage cheap. Why is the car not there to get fixed? Please sort this out and make sure my dad’s car is returned to him urgently

----end----- Something if very fishy here..... I would actually have liked a third party or the ombudsman to investigate this as it is not ethical what they are doing. Take an old persons car away from him and go and make some nice profit by reselling the car r something.

I want to know where these cheaper repairers are so that we can take it there.
