car damaged

i was driving the car from Vlakpoort to Wakkersrtroom( Situated at Mpumalanga Province under Isaka Pixley ka Seme municipality). it was after the rain and the road was not smooth since it was a gravel road. i had an incident, the tower that hold shock absorber on the chasis leg got cracked badly. it was weekend (Saturday) and i was with the patient in the Car and did not know the contacts of the insurance, then i just went to the nearest welder to help me so that i can go back home with the patient.

then i l called momentum to claim, they said i must take the pictures for the damage car i did and send it to them as requested. on the 3th January 2018 i did receive a call from Tiya- ********** regarding the claim He/She said the claim was denied due to the following reason: * Vehicle is old and has a high mileage on dirt roads, which cause the breakage of the inner tray and shock absorber Tower. *it is not incident related related *the damaged has occured over a period of time.

My concern are as follows: firstly they didn't come to assess the car and they also talk about old car with high mileage but i am paying monthly they never mentioned that the car is old can you cancel the insurance.
