********* behavior by Momentum

TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN

In January 2023 We moved into a new premises reffered to as 80 Silvergrass Road, Montana. The previous owner Mr Jacques Palm told us that his Insurance is good and he will get the Broker to contact us since we did not have any Insurance in place.

The Broker said as above is Mr Johan Timmer. He contacted me and made an appointment. After we discussed everything I agreed to be insured by Momentum as He told me that he was a Broker from Momentum. We used to speak on Whatsapp as he requested documents as my ID. I received my Policy from Momentum on the 12th of January 2023.

On the 22 of June 2023 we had a inccident were as people came into the shop and took alot of valuable things from the shop. As in my SAPS statement with Case nr 324/6/2023 the two main suspects invloved is Mr Jacques Palm and Mr Hannes Saaijman. I contacted my Broker Mr Johan Timmer and he advised that I get a case number first and then phone him again.

After I received my case number I phoned him again and he did not answer my calls. I asked my wife to try and get hold of him and she did. He send her a whatsapp message stating that I should phone the Claims departement and follow the voice prompts for claims. After we struggled to get through to the right department we tried to phone him again to ask if he cannot assist in this matter since he is my broker and we then realised he blocked us both on whatsapp and did not answer any phone calls.

We phoned the call centre of momentum again and eventually received the claim number which is CC174292.

I received the email from Seipati Maleboho on the 29th of June 2023 , a Commercial Claims Advisor as mentioned in the email received. In above mentioned email there were points mentioned as to what Momentum requested I send through to process the claim.

I have send all the info I could.

On the 7th of July Seipati send me an e-mail to state that they have received all the documentation I have send.

I phoned Momentum again to follow up on the claim and the person who helped me told me that Momentum is sending someone to come and see me and help me. ( I cannot remember the name of this person)

On the 11th of July Mr Quinton van Schalkwyk a Specialized Claims Investigator according to his email came to my shop without an appointment and phoned me to say he was in the area and if I was available for a appointment which I rep**** I am not. He spoke to my employee's and just introduced himself as someone from Momentum.

He then send me an email to request more or less the same documents as Seipati did.

I then send him all the information I had aswell.

Today on the 17th of July 2023 Mr Quinton van Schalkwyk made an appointment with me for 12 o'clock . Upon meeting him today he asked me questions to which I answered.I was under the impression that he wanted to meet with me and investigate the case and the offenders.He revealed to me that he went to the one suspect Mr Hannes Saaijman to see if the goods were there that was taken and apon viewing he saw some of the items but not all. I asked him what is going to happen and he rep**** that Momentum will not pay out for the claim. I also asked him what about my Broker Mr Johan Timmer and he rep**** that he is not an employee of Momentum and that it has nothing to do with Momentum. But when my wife phoned Momentum the first time ,the consultant informed her that only Mr Timmer and myself may do anything on the Policy. I realised today after meeting with Mr van Schalkwyk that he was in fact not investigating my case or claim or the offenders but rather investigating me. He also requested to speak in private to my employees.

I suspected that something was not right here and that the neccessary steps and the right procedures were not followed during my Claim and I found that Mr Johan Timmer is befriended with the one of the main suspects Mr Jacques Palm. I suspect that since they are friends Mr Johan Timmer refused to assist me with anything as he is paid commision to do.

I also saw on Mr Quinton van Schalkwyks Car ( Ford Bakkie) that there were a KTM sticker on the left fender and since the main suspect Mr Hannes Saaijman is a big name in the Off Road Industry Mr van Schalkwyk is also associated with him and chose to not assist me accordingly since he is acquainted with Mr Saaijman.

I feel very strongly that this case was handled very ********* and that I was questioned by Mr van Schalkwyk as a ***** and not a Victim which was very inappropriate.

Please can you investigate this matter immediately.
