Alexander Forbes Insurance

We have been insured with A Forbes for over 15 years, and am disappointed by their lack of professionalism and values.

One of our vehicles was involved in a rear smash on the 03.04.19. The tow truck company that is affiliated to A Forbes (Kurt's Towing), was approved (at the scene) to take our vehicle to an assessment center in Springfield park. However they took our vehicle to Black Diamond Panel Beaters in Cornubia.

We the clients spent an entire week & a half back & forth trying to get our car out from Black Diamond. At no stage did A Forbes contact us, we were always calling them. Black Diamond were giving us the run around, and delaying the release of our car. At one point we were contemplating reporting our vehicle as being ******!!

Also Alexander Forbes, had confirmed that they had previous incidents like ours where the cars insured with them were taken to Black Diamond, however they stated that they cannot do anything about the panel beater in question. They did say they can deal with the tow company (am not sure if anything has been done to Kurt's Towing).

We eventually were assisted by C. Naidoo from 1st4U (based in JHB) they are the company that assigns the tow vehicles on behalf of A Forbes. As the owner of Black Diamond was a friend of her fellow colleague.

I contacted A Forbes compliance head Ms E. Beukes & A Moalahi, via email (10.04.19). They had rep**** to say they were extremely sorry to hear of what had happened and promised to investigate & get back to us. To date almost a month later (09.05.19) we have had NO RESPONSE.

And the cherry on the top is that our car is still not ready to be collected from the panel beaters.

Shocking service, Alexander Forbes used to have very high standards, and we stayed with them for this very reason even though we could insurance cheaper elsewhere .
