Alexander Forbes -- 13 October till December 2016 No release signed -- third party claim nightmare

Laid a third party claim with alexandra forbes on the 13th of October 2016 for an accident caused by their client that happened on the 1st of October 2016. Submitted an accident report, images of the accident. I then had to call and find out if the claim was received as they claim to not call a third party. I asked to speak to their legal department manager a "Hantie Van Zyl" and a few minutes later I got a mail about the receipt of the claim. The claim was given to Solomon Mokwena to process. It's been two month since I submitted the claim and I am yet to know when my car will be fixed. The problem is the fact that Solomon has been taking a number of days off work and when he is in the office I can't seem to get ahold of him and when I do get ahold of him he never tells me anything clearly. After I was made aware that solomon Mokoena was handling my claim I called him and asked him when they were going to come assess my car I had to wait on the line for him to read the documents I had sent. It took a two weeks to get the "KBG Assessors PTY LTD" assessor to come to me and another week for him to send out the assessment report to Solomon and I called again and was made to hold while he read the report from the assessors. He told me he needed to compile the release and get it authorized by the same Hantie Van Zyl and this took another a couple of days. Finally I got the release and to my suprise the assessors report was the quotation that the panelbeaters had prepared for the assessor and when I went through it I found that there were not even numbered pages of the report and I tried to get ahold of Solomon and I couldn't get ahold of him from wednesday the 23rd ofNovember to Tuesday the 30th. He took another few minutes reading my mail and sent the full report and when I went through it I noticed that the assessor refused for my windshield to be replaced, Rims were allocated too little money for repairs, that they are sending the driveshaft for repair instead of replacing it with a new one. I queried this with Solomon and he told me that I should call the panelbeaters, the assessors and talk to them. Now at this point I was confused how he could tell me to call the assessors as I didn't know them. I sent about 12 mails to the assessors and there were about the same number of responses from KBG assessors specifically a Gavin Graham "this guy is hard-headed". In the mails I was basically explaining that I wouldn't sign the release as they were not willing to replace the driveshaft and that I wasn't comfortable driving a Golf 7 GTI with a repaired suspention shaft. In all these mails Hantie and Solomon were copied and decided to be useless and not intervien and left me to deal with their assessor. I then called Solomon to ask him to talk to him appointed assessor and he told me he couldn't help me and I asked to speak to Hantie again, this time she was straight-up rude I remember her saying "if you just paid a premium you wouldn't be calling and complaining about the drive shaft" at which point I asked her to assist with the claim and not tell me that she told me she couldn't comment as she hadn't seen the mails i sent to the assessors. Last week friday the 9th I was supposed to go to Tanzania but because of this claim and the slow progress I had to cancel it and asked Solomon if he'd be able to assist me with the claim this week and he agreed.

on Monday the 12 of December 2016 I called Solomon a few times being made to wait and finally after four calls and waiting I got him. I asked if he had sent the claim to Hantie for authorization and he agreed. Needless to say that on Tuesday when I called again to find out about the progress of the authorization he told me he wasn't able to give me any feedback and he told me he was actually going on leave until monday next week which meant that I had cancelled my trip for nothing and was clearly **** to. Today it's Wednesday the 12th December 2016 and I called again and was told he is off till monday like he said and that I had to wait for him to ge the authorization sent to me. I spoke to a Jessica and asked to speak to Hantie who also like Solomon avoided talking to me and said to Jessica to tell me she will send the release today. I sent her a mail and I have yet to receive the release.

Basically what I am saying here is that I am frustrated as I have waited for two months calling everyday and waiting for Hantie and Solomon to fix my car and to this point I am still not sure when I will be able to authorize the panelbeaters to start working on my car and to this point Hantie either is rude or completely ignores me.

Alexandra Forbes insurance is unprofessional and completely useless when they decided to answer their phones.

-> Hantie their manager is useless and rude.
-> Solomon Mokoena the legal adviser is useless, dishonest and rude and a pure inconsiderate **** who who tries to be vague when he clearly isn't doing anything about your claim.

I must say that dealing with Alexander Forbes has been an utterly frustrating disgusting experience and the agent assigned to process my claim has been nothing but useless. I expected better service and communication from this company.

Please see all the mails sent in the entire process to this point which is by the way nowhere!

Third Party Claim 606307 [*******]

Thu 2016-11-10 08:42 AM
Sent Items
To:
Cc:
'';
Morning Hantie,

Please confirm that Solomon Mokoena sent the file relating to claim 606307 to you for the authorization of the settlement. Please contact her and confirm this on ********** .

The said accident happened on 1st October 2016 around 06:14 am in Midrand at an intersection between New Road and Lever Road. The vehicle that knocked into my vehicle with registration DF 92 TZ GP was a white Audi model A3 TFSI with registration DV 39 NR GP.

Short Description of the accident:

I was driving north on New Road towards summerset and when I approached the robot at the intersection where lever intersects new road from the left through to the right I had to stop behind another vehicle which was in front of me making me the second car on the right lane of the two lanes that only go straight as the robot in front of us was red. To my left was a white ford with registration CF 50 BR GP which I was directly aligned with going straight with another car in front of the ford. After having been stationery for no less than 15-20 seconds I had a loud hang and felt my car moving towards the left into the ford and when I looked to the right I noticed the white Audi flipping in front of us and landed directly in front of us and the ford right where the two cars in front of us had stopped but luckily those two cars heard the bang and moved forward and parked on lever facing down. At that point we came out of the car with my friend Mabhunu Dlamini to see if the driver in the Audi was okay and then the tow drivers and paramedics got to the scene. Phillip Jacobs the driver of the White ford had to leave the accident scene as he was rushing to work and we exchanged contact details and then he pulled off while paramedics were attending to the Driver of the white Audi. About five-to-7 minutes later Midrand Metro Police got to the scene and instructed us to go to the police station and register an accident report as they couldn’t write the report at the scene because the white ford had moved off the scene. My vehicle was towed to Lake Xanadu where I reside and then we went to Thembisa Hospital to collect Nqaba Malghas who was driving the Audi during the accident and we went to the Midrand Police station and completed the accident report and we were given AR number 15/10/2016.

I Nkosingiphile ******* declare that any and all documentation herewith is accurate to the best of my knowledge.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Send release to Nkosingiphile -- ***

Wed 2016-12-14 12:14 PM
Sent Items
To:
Cc:
Solomon Mokwena **********
Hi Hantie,

Can you please forward me the release before 15:00 today as I want to sign it and send it back still today.

Solomon was supposed to send it to me yesterday and now he’s off till Monday without sending it to me as promised. Are you saying you will fit in a new drive shaft as opposed to sending the damaged one for repairs? If that’s the case why did we waste a month and not do that the first time as that’s what the engineer at Sanrose suggested. Did Ricky (kbg) elaborate why his initial decision was to fix a crucial part of the running of a sports car for fixing with a limited budget of R2500? Also are you saying you are going to allocate more money for Ricky (Sanrose) to be able to get the rims fixed properly? Is this is the case how much? Need to confirm if this will be enough.

Please send the said amendments through to myself and Solomon (Alexendra Forbes) so we can have Hantie authorize this amended release. I see your quote was R193, 205.41 but the amount Ricky from KGB Assessors contracted by Alex Forbes evaluated your quote and allowed for the total repairs to be R147,956.30. Do you understand the reason here apart from the damages that were already thereas denoted on page on the first page of the report from KGB assessors?
2. Will this amount cover all of your costs for the parts that need to be purchased, replaced, and painted?
3. On the attached you’ll find the assessment from Ricky and there seems to be a lot of lines that he crossed-off and new amounts handwritten does that mean with all the marked off items you agreed on the reduction in the prices for the same initial labor and parts prices?
4. For the rims I see Ricky ‘Sanrose’ quoted R3000 for both and the assessor only allowed for R1250, will this fix the rims and also cover the tires for each? One of those rims alone would be more than the initial quoted R6000 without the tire as those are about an extra R2,500 – 3000 alone.
5. Line ‘7034’ on page 5 of 13: R/DRIVE SHAFT EXCH quoted at R10, 551.60 was reduced to 2500. Does that mean you aren’t going to fit a new DRIVESHAFT for the right wheel. What exactly you be doing here as I believe this is one of the crucial things we need to replace completely?
@Ricky ‘KGB Assessors’ what is your reasoning for denying the panelbeaters to fit in a new DRIVE SHAFT and not sending it for recon?
6. Seeing how this quotation was compiled on 27 October 2016 will the price for parts be the same when you eventually received authorization to proceed with the repairs? For how long are this prices valid?

Can I also ask that we go through the vehicle and you indicate to me what all the crossed out items are on the vehicle and advise on whether I should or shouldn’t accept the amount offered if there’s a possibility that the total costs will exceed the amount offered of R147,956.30 as I am not willing to pay the difference.

@Ricky ‘Sanrose’; Did you agree to these price changes with Ricky the assessor?

@Ricky ‘Sanrose’ and Ricky prince ‘KGB’ Please confirm if you’d have time on Friday afternoon say about 11:00 to go through the vehicle before I sign anything.

From: Solomon Mokwena ********** />Sent: Wednesday, 30 November, 2016 10:49 AM
To:
Subject: 178/606307 menziwa

Good day

With reference to our telephone conversation

Attached find herein documents as per your request.

Kind regards

Solomon Mokwena l Legal Advisor l Legal - Recoveries & Third Party Claims l ADMINISTRATION SERVICES

Tel: +27 12 ********** l Fax: +27 12 ********** | l ********** />
Alexander Forbes Administration Services (Pty) Ltd l +27 12 ********** l PO Box 35325, Menlo Park, 0102, South Africa l Alexander Forbes House, 189 Clark Street, Brooklyn, Pretoria 0181
Co.

Please understand that I will not be signing anything until I am certain that after the repairs the car will not cause me any bodily harm or **** me.

Regards,
Nkosi
Gavin Graham ********** />Tue 2016-12-06 02:25 PM
Inbox
Hi Nkosi

I have spoken to Ricky and the repair costs have been agreed with him.

All damages emanating from this claim will be addressed in the repair process.
We have agreed on a quantum to get your vehicle back to its pre-accident condition.

Regards

Gavin Graham
KBG Assessors (Pty) Ltd.
P.O.Box 1415 - Glenvista - Johannesburg - 2058.
Tel.

Co.
