AFI - Alexander Forbes Insanity

I took out car and household cover with Alexander Forbes just under 2 years ago, all done telephonically. Believing this to be a big and reputable company I presumed that they would provide a decent service.

I recently suffered two major losses within the space of one week, a damaging house break-in and somebody smashing my car. I submitted the claims and now AFI inform me that they are only covering less than 10% of the cost of repair on my vehicle and I have to fork out the rest. Admittedly at the time I took out the insurance i did it telephonically and I did not scrutinise all of the fine print, This is a common and human error. However I did not expect this kind of utterly ridiculous and dishonest treatment from a company with the reputation of Alexander Forbes.

It is an utter joke that the consultant even asked me if they should proceed with the repair. I have to basically pay for it myself so what is the point of even having insurance? What is even more worrying and scary, if this is how Alexander Forbes treats its so called valued clients, I expect they will also hang me out to dry regarding my house losses.

The public need to be made aware of what sort of ************ company they are dealing with.
