Worst medical aid. Terrible service. Would 100% not recommend

Let me start by saying; don’t even waste your time and money with momentum health. We joined momentum health Ingwe scheme in February 2020. Before joining the medical aid we told them that we are planning on having another baby as soon as we can and they confirmed that as long as we wait out the 12 month waiting period we will be fully covered for pregnancy and delivery once I fall pregnant (obviously with the hospitals/gynies/midwives that are on their scheme) which was all confirmed when we signed up. We waited the 12 months and then fell pregnant in April 2021 and from the moment I called to inform them that I am pregnant and need to activate my maternity benefits it has just been one excuse after another. At first I was told that I have to go for an ultra sound and send the scan and a report confirming the pregnancy. We tried getting a list of gynies that the medical aid will actually cover but that was already an issue as they have no gynies in our area. The closest gynie is 45-60 mins away from us. We went for an ultrasound and paid for it cash as the medical aid refused to activate my maternity benefits until we send them the ultra sound. I sent them the ultra sound as well as a confirmation letter from the sonographer and then they rejected it as they do not accept the sonographer on their medical aid. We then asked them again to please help us and assist us by telling us where we can go and who will be covered. They told us that the hospitals in our area are Flora Clinic and Wilgeheuwel which we are completely satisfied with BUT they do not cover ANY gynie or midwife in either of these hospitals. I then had to call around and find gynies myself and get quotations from them to send to the medical aid. They simply rep**** and said they are not going to cover much as the gynies are not charging their scheme rates (but there are no gynies at either hospital charging those rates!?) They then told us that the only option they have for us is to go to Robinson hospital and I HAVE to use Dr van Rooy or Dr CJ Venter. So I tried contacting Dr CJ Venter and it turned out that he passed away in June 2020 already (how does the medical aid not know this!?). I then contacted Dr van Rooy’s office and was told by his receptionist that he no longer does any deliveries or check ups/sonars at Robinson Hospital. He only practices at Krugersdorp Private and of course this hospital ons also not includes on my medical aid plan. So basically we are now facing a gynie bill of +/-R34 000 which we do not have as I am a stay at home mom and my husband lost his job at the end of May. The medical aid is literally just saying well sorry but we have no options for you and you will have to pay the all the gynie costs out of your pocket!
