Whats the use of medical aid ???

My wife has to go in for a knee replacement on 19 October at the Bedford Gardens Clinic, I have received authorisation for the procedure but I have to pay an additional R2686.00 to the Doctor because he is not a network Doctor, the closest network Doctor to us is in Florida. So for me not to pay anything extra I would have to run up and down to Florida from the East Rand twice a day at least-I would save the co-payment but would have to pay more than that in petrol. Are you that short sighted not to realise there are people on the East Rand that would need this type of procedure. Why have you not negotiated with any Doctors on the East Rand?? What am I paying Medical Aid for???
