Ridiculous waiting period

I have been a member on my medical for 10 years, my two children their entire lives and my husband a year on my medical aid, and before that on his own medical aid. I changed positions and had to resign from my current medical aid as I could only belong to them if you worked for the company. We then app**** to Momuntem Health only to be told we have a 3 month waiting period which we cannot claim anything?? Why is this??? They cannot give me an answer! How can I not have a medical aid for three months with a 3year old and a 5 year old?? Now I must pay thousands not to receive any service? There is no decent explanation for the waiting period and totally ridiculous!
