Paying for Chronic medicine?

<p>Why must I pay for chronic medicine (hypertension) if the law says, you do NOT have to pay for chronic in South Africa, as long as its the generic product (in other words, cheapest) and as long as the supplying pharmacy stays within the prescribed pricing structure?? (I'm sure Dischem Pharmacy, being as national as they am, ARE in this price structure) I am a pensioner, and a expense of over a thousand rand per month on chronic hypertension medicine and my wife for ashtma medication is NOT acceptable!! I cannot afford it and at this stage have to cut down on life neccessaties like food and clothes just to keep healthy) My son is also on chronic medicine and havent paid a cent in 5 years for for his hypertention medication. Please sort this out and indicate which medicine me and my wife should use then that my medical Aid will pay!! You guys get big amounts of money monthly from your members and still everyone has to pay for everything.</p>
