Orthopedic surgeon can't perform an ultrasound good enough...

Last year I had to have surgery of the right shoulder and it was an absolute nightmare getting authorisation. This year my left shoulder needs surgery. I went to the orthopedic surgeon twice and the injections do not work. An X-ray report and motivational letter stating the results of the ultrasound performed by the doctor himself were submitted to Momentum but they don't see this as sufficient. Instead they insist that I go to a radiologist for an ultrasound. Basically they imply that the orthopedic surgeon does not know how to do an ultrasound and interpret it.

It's clear that once you start claiming they do things like this to make you want to cancel your membership. I contribute almost R10 000 a month to Momentum and this is how I'm treated.

A CMS complaint was lodged earlier today.
