Only a third of hospital expenses paid

Hospital plans are meant to cover hospital expenses - but Momentum has gaily fleeced us for several years (no claims until last week) and now has the gall to pay barely a third of our doctor and anaesthetist bills. I cannot comprehend a business model that treats clients with such profitable disdain. We’ve paid over tens of thousands to them, reaping rich rewards for shareholders: and when we needed them (for the first time ever), they’re laughing all the way to the bank and have left us high and dry. Shame on you.

Thanks, Debbie, I would be grateful. While I understand that health professionals often charge up to 300% more than standard MA rates, this is not our fault - if the MA, medical professionals and clients/patients could meet in the middle, then everybody wins; rather than squeezing to financial death the poor client/patient. There has to be a better way, particularly since we’ve paid Momentum an extraordinary amount of money over the years, and never made a claim.

Our woes with Momentum continue unabated. Five days later, we are no closer to talking to anybody, and the hospital bills keep piling up! We are now standing at nearly R30 000 in claims from health professionals - and Momentum is nowhere to be found. What on earth is going on?
