Non payment Covid test - Momentum Health

We lodged a claim with Momentum given that my wife was tested positive with Covid 19.

On 2020/12/10 we flew from PE to Gauteng to visit our children. On 2020/12/12 my wife started to experience symptoms of Covid 19 and on the 13th we phoned doctors on call to discuss the symptoms;making use of doctors on call is something that Momentum advocates extensively. They immediately referred us to a local Clinic to be tested. On the 14th we went to a local clinic to be tested;however they could only assist us later that week.We got information of a drivethru facility of Lancet and made use of it.The tests came back positive.

We are now faced with a situation that the medical aid do not want to pay for the service rendered given that we were not refwrres by a doctor and Lancet do not want to change the code for the service rendered given that a doctor did not refer us for the test.Momentum advocate the use of doctor on call, but do not want to accept the decision made by them.

I think is a disgrace given the extremity of the pandemic that a medical aid is not willing to accept responsibility and pay the account which is a total of R 850.00.The circumstances that led to the events as stated previously is out of the ordiniary and should be treated as such.
