Negligent rendering of financial services cause financial prejudice
In November 2020 we instructed Momentum Health to change the main member of our medical aid for tax purposes. We were advised that it would happen 1 January 2021. In the change we requested that the bank account that must be debited must be changed, main member on the health saver must also be change and the monies moved to the new main member. On 3 January the money was taken from the wrong bank account causing us to incur additional bank charges. The change according to Momentum to only take place 1 Feb but this was not communicated until mid Jan. Our old cover was terminated and a new policy issued. This change has effectively has left us with out cover until Momentum pulls their finger out of you know where. The monies in the Health Saver I discovered yesterday where not moved either. We are not in possession of cards which were apparently posted on 5 Jan 2021. So what do we do in the interim? Our premiums are paid, but we have not access to our monies in our health saver due to the total incompetence. This is negligently rendering financial services. Momentum Health should know better in terms of the FAIS General Code of Conduct that this is not acceptable. I will be taking this up with the Financial Services Ombud as we have been financial prejudiced by this.
