Momentum Maternity Benefit more stress than help

5 years ago i signed up with Momentum Health Hospital Plan purely for the Maternity benefit, 5 years later i am 16 weeks pregnant. I thought i would have zero stress, everything would be covered, i could just enjoy my pregnancy. Boy was i wrong. It has been nothing short of misery with Momentum. The maternity benefit is shocking and their service even worse. No pathology covered on the custom plan (i have had to pay about R10k out of my pocket already. I pay almost R2k a month for this hospital plan) Most recently, after hearing that no pathology would be paid for but i get 2 free fetal assessments (yay) i sent my 13 week fetal assessment receipt off to Momentum looking forward to the refund. I was highly mistaken again. Not only did i embark on a backwards and forwards email on why they needed the tariff codes sent to them which was clearly stated on the invoice and why i needed a motivational letter for something which is actually quite standard, i have yet to hear back from Michelle Manilall - broker specialist, who had so much to say about it all. So now i wait, after almost 4 weeks and wasting my time to obtain tariff codes and motivational letters. Once i have delivered i will definately be changing hospital plans.

for those expectant mums who are reading this, if you want a good healthcare provider, do not use Momentum.
