Momentum HealthSaver Pay Out. Lies, Inconsistencies and ********** Documents!

Not even deserving of that 1 star but that's lowest.

I had to terminate my momentum membership because my new employers require me to join their medical aid. I recieved the forms to terminate which I filled in and sent back to them. I recieved confirmation that my membership has been terminated.

A couple of days later, I send an email to find out when my HealthSaver funds will be paid out and that's when things starting doing south, fast.

I was told by Ayanda Gasa that it'll be paid in "approximately 6months." I went back to all my initial conversations with Rochelle Francis who is the broker that facilitated my application and no such waiting period is communicated. I checked the T&Cs document as well as the Focus Brochure, nothing like that stated. So then I respond and ask them to share the terms that I accepted that communicate this waiting period and to explain what claims they'd be processing 5months from now when I no longer able to use HealthSaver because I've terminated my membership. The response from Nomfundo Mthembu has an attachment to confirm termination of HealthSaver contact and on there it says 6months. The second document an attachment, dated 2005 that says funds are paid back within 5 months. Please note that I was only a member from 2017. This document has a signature that is not mine.

Now I query who's signature/initials are those on the document, and question the inconsistencies, is it 6months or 5months, and once more, where is the document that I signed and agreed to this terms.

Today I get a response from Sumanth Ramlagan sending me a document dated 16 February 2017 that says funds are paid 4months after termination. She says this was sent to me with my welcome pack. She also then says this 4months was revised in 2018 to 6months and attaches the 2019 Focus Brochure.

I have responded back now attaching that actual email I got with my welcome pack, so she can see the documents that were sent to me, and again none of those documents speak to any waiting period.

I then also let her know that the revised brochure was not shared with me either at any point, the first time I have ever heard of this was after termination and even then, it's only because I asked for them to tell me when my money would be paid back.

Because they take so long to respond to emails, I've had time to do some homework and it seems I'm not that first one to be blindsided by a random waiting period once membership is terminated. In one of the HelloPeter reviews a person was requested to pay R250 "admin fee" to release his funds immediately and not wait the 4/5/6 months, whichever it is because it seems no one really knows.

I've also copied in the client engagement mailbox to verify and confirm that no such document was sent with my welcome pack. And copied in the Tell us mailbox so they can see the trail and learn how not to deal with a disgruntled customer.

I am terribly disappointed. I've had bad service before but not to this extent. This is not on and I can't imagine how many times daily that Momentum does this to less clued up people. It's truly sickening

The fact that no one has bothered to pick up the phone to address this with me infuriates me the most because I did the polite thing and reached out to them directly instead of putting them on blast publically and all I've gotten is lies and inconsistencies for weeks now.
