Momentum Health Schemes

I joined Momentum Health in 2017. I sent them a letter to terminate my contract on the 16th of September 2019. According to my initial contract signed in 2017. I have to give 30 days notice, as per my contracts terms and conditions, "14. I undertake to give 30 days notice should I wish to terminate my membership." However, the scheme has informed me that I need to pay the full amount for October 2019 as the 30 days needs to be a full calendar month. No where in my contract does it state that. I requested that they bill me pro rata for October 2019. However, they stated that they do not do that. When I app**** in 2017, they billed me pro rata as I joined mid-month. The scheme will do everything in their power to exploit their members. I wouldn't advise anyone to join this medical aid scheme. They exploit members while in hospital and they do not abide by their contractual agreement. It is not the first time that I had to refer back to the contract when dealing with scheme. When my son was admitted to hospital, they billed me for in hospital to fees. Which the scheme was supposed to pay for, after much debate and me referring to the contract, they finally paid the in hospital fees. Please ensure you read your contract carefully Momentum members, as they will take advantage of you if you don't!!!
