Momentum Health, Dodging Hospital accounts

I've been a client of Momentum Health since 2014, so close to 4 years. For 4 years I have been paying them a medical aid premium and have been fortunate, that I had no claims.

I've recently had an unfortunately event by which I caught 3 intruders in my home in the middle of the night. I had to defend myself and my family and unfortunately suffered some heavy injuries (stabbed in the neck and back). An ambulance was called and I was rushed to a Mediclinic Emergency centre.

While I had been taken good care of at the hospital, the after experience is not at all pleasant. Momentum Heath, whom I have medical aid with, is dodging footing my hospital bill as well as the DR. bills of the staff whom attended to me.

The bill isn't even that high, however it is the principle. I have hospital cover, this was a medical emergency ( I was stabbed inches from my artery) however momentum claim they would pay if I was hospitalised. Sure momentum, next time I would ask the intruders to rough me up a bit more so that I would have less personal medical expenses.

Guess you would be losing my R 3000+ payment a month to Discovery.
