I am extremely disappointed with Momentum's handling of my daughter's hospital admission. We joined in May 2026, and she only

I am currently at the hospital with my daughter, who requires admission following recent seizures, and I am extremely distressed and disappointed with the way Momentum Medical Scheme is handling her authorisation.

We joined Momentum in May 2026. My eldest daughter had no known history of seizures at the time we joined. She had never suffered from this condition previously and, to the best of my knowledge, had no illness or medical history relating to seizures that I could possibly have disclosed.

Her first seizure only occurred in September 2026 – approximately four months AFTER joining Momentum.

She has subsequently experienced further seizures, and after taking her to the doctor, we were advised that she now needs to be admitted to hospital for investigations and testing. Yet I am sitting at the hospital being told that the authorisation needs to be discussed because this condition was allegedly not disclosed.

How could I have disclosed a medical condition in May that, according to her medical history, only presented for the first time in September?

What makes this even more upsetting is that I have a younger daughter with an existing chronic medical condition, which I DID disclose to Momentum, and she is registered accordingly. Why would I deliberately disclose one child's existing medical condition but supposedly conceal another child's condition? That simply does not make sense.

I am asking Momentum to urgently review the actual medical records and dates. If there is any suggestion that my eldest daughter suffered from seizures or was diagnosed with a related condition before we joined Momentum, then please provide me with the medical evidence and dates on which that allegation is based.

Otherwise, I expect Momentum to recognise that a condition that first presented months after joining could not have been disclosed at the time of application.

This is not merely an administrative inconvenience. I am sitting at a hospital with my daughter after she has experienced seizures, her doctor believes she requires admission and investigations, and I am now having to fight over an alleged non-disclosure of something that had not yet happened when we joined.

I urgently request that Momentum: 1. Escalate and review the authorisation immediately, taking the actual dates of onset into account. 2. Confirm exactly what Momentum alleges was not disclosed and what evidence supports that allegation. 3. Review my daughter's medical history to establish whether there was any diagnosis, treatment or seizure history prior to our membership commencing in May 2026. 4. Finalise the hospital authorisation as urgently as possible so that my daughter can receive the investigations her treating doctor has requested.

I understand that medical schemes have processes that must be followed, but those processes must also take account of the actual facts and chronology of a member's medical history.

Momentum, please deal with this urgently. My priority right now should be my daughter's health – not having to defend myself against an allegation of failing to disclose a condition that, according to her history, did not exist when we joined.
