Duplicate Debit Refunded, Bank Charges Still Outstanding

Thank you, Momentum Health, for refunding the duplicate debit order.

However, your billing error caused insufficient funds on my account, which resulted in an unpaid item fee of R388 and potential overdraft charges from my bank. These costs were triggered solely by your incorrect processing, not by any action on my part.

I now require reimbur*****t of:

R388 unpaid item fee

Any additional overdraft-related bank charges incurred due to this error (I will provide proof once received)

Under PASA debit order rules and the Consumer Protection Act, consumers should not be financially prejudiced by supplier processing errors.

I am posting this publicly because I have had very little success getting this resolved through direct communication and standard support channels.

Please confirm when and how these bank charges will be reimbursed.

This issue is now nearing the three-week mark, which is an unreasonable delay for a billing error caused by Momentum.

If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will escalate it to the Council for Medical Schemes and the relevant Ombud.

A week to go up the “credit approval chain” for reimbur*****t of fees caused by your own billing error is frankly ridiculous. This shows a complete lack of urgency when it comes to customer service and resolving issues that financially prejudice your clients.

It is concerning that there seems to be no similar “approval chain” when it comes to double debiting customers’ accounts. Had the same level of scrutiny been app**** before the duplicate debit, this complaint would not have been necessary in the first place.

This matter is now approaching four weeks and should have been resolved long ago.
