Cancelled my membership Dec 2020, still taking my money Aug 2021
My Momentum health membership was cancelled in December 2020 by Momentum and they are still debiting my account on August 2021. Nobody reached out to inform me of the cancellation, however, they kept debiting my account - and still do (8 MONTHS later).
Upon being admitted to hospital, I found out that the membership has been cancelled and needed to pay R50K+ in medical fees which Momentum refused to cover because I'm not a member.
It is now August 2021 and they are STILL debiting my account. I have been in contact with Momentum via email on 5 separate occasions and once via Facebook. NO ONE has been able to assist. One email says my membership was cancelled, another says it's active, another says it's Multiply still debiting my account, another says it's not Multiply, another says they've cc'd management and they'll respond (they didn't) and no one seems to be able to do anything other than copy and paste a sorry excuse for "client relationship" messages.
How hard can it be to send an instruction to the accounts department to STOP THE DEBIT ORDERS?!?! Or to actually help the people who reach out asking for assistance? According to their Facebook page, I'm not the only one this has happened to.
Momentum does NOT have my permission to use my personal details or banking information to deduct money from my account. I am no longer a member. This is THEFT. I will be contacting the ombudsman on Monday 9 August 2021 if I cannot be reassured that Momentum has stopped the debit orders.
Thank you for bringing this enquiry to our attention. We will call you and assist.
Kind regards
Jody Saunders
