Beware

I was contacted by a sales person on 26 July 2016 and he wanted to sell a mobile WiFi to me. I told him im not interested because i live on a farm and the signal there is very weak. He assured me that he had other clients also living on farms who experienced no problem using the Mobius Mobile Wi-Fi. He also assured me that i had a five day period in which i cud send it back to them if it didn't work. I received the WiFi product on 29 July from them via courier. I tested it over the weekend but it kept on asking my password when i tried to connect it to my cellphone. On Monday i called the call centre and asked their help. Michelle of the call centre very impatiently told me to open the device because my password was printed on the back of the cover, which i did. The device still did not want to work on the farm. So, on 19 Julie, i sent them an email as well as called them requesting them to cancel my contract. I got an email back informing me that i will be charged the full cancellation fee as the contract is past the 5 day cooling off period. i emailed them back and told them that i only received the device on 15 July, so the 5 days have not expired yet. Then i received another email asking me if i "opened the device or not". I rep**** that of course i opened it, cos i was told to by Michelle of the call centre in order to retrieve my password. Because i opened the device they are going to deduct R350.00 from my account. I dont think this is fair, because i lost R350.00 and have nothing to show therefore, but they have their device back.
