Promises made but not kept

This problem has been going on since October 2016 and is still not close to being fixed. On the 7th of October 2016 at 13:20, i was phoned by Lucille from Mobile Talk and offered a R799 uncapped internet package. I already had a 10gb package for R299, which i took out in September 2015 so i said to Lucille that i am willing to take this new package on the condition that the R299.00 package falls away as it will be of no use to me if i have an uncapped package.

She made me the promise that the R299.00 package would indeed fall away. however, to my dismay, i have been paying both contracts up till today still.

I phoned Telkom and was informed that both packages were still active, and that i should contact Mobile Talk and arrange that the R299.00 contract be cancelled. I then contacted Mobile talk and spoke to Lindiwe Duma who told me that Lucille was not authorised to make that promise and that she will escalate the call to the Quality Control department, where they would listen to the call and then, if the report i gave was indeed true, they would make a decision accordingly.

Ithen received a call by Lerato Ncuoi on the 8th of November 2016 stating that the quality control department confirmed that Lucille had made that promise they had found in my favour. i was then asked what i wanted to do, to which i answered that the R299.00 contract must be cancelled as requested and that the contract for R799.00 remain intact.

On the 17th of November 2016, after hearing nothing from mobile talk, i phoned again and spoke to Nadia. told her my whole story and she informed me that there has been no movement on my account.

On the 26th of November, whilst on holiday and thus not in a position to write down names, i was phoned by an Indian Lady claiming to be a supervisor telling me that they are sending the couriers to my home to collect the Modem and sim card for the R799.00 contract. Unfortunately, due to the frustration of dealing with a company that is so unprofessional, i lost it and began shouting down the line. when things had eventually calmed and i had said my piece, we came to the agreement that the R799.00 package would stay intact and they would cancel the R299.00 package as soon as the couriers had collected the R299.00 modem.

NOTHING HAPPENED

on 29 December 2016 at 11:08, i phoned Mobile Talk again, spoke again to Lerato Ncuoi who promised to attange collection by the couriers to collect on the 3rd of January 2017, after which the money paid from October would be refunded. I SPENT THE WHOLE DAY AT HOME WAITING FOR THEM AND EVENTUALLY HAD TO WASTE A DAYS LEAVE.

i phoned again on the 10th January 2017 at 09:4, spoke to Michelle who told me that Lerato was not supposed to fix a date for the collection as this depended on the courier company and that she would now arrange this collection and refund.

On 12th of January, i was phoned by the courier company who told me they would be at my house in 30 minutes. I left work and rushed home. Their 30 minutes became 2 hours. GRRRRRR

On 16 January i phoned to enquire what is happening, was told that the device was not showing on their system as received, so i gave the operative the waybill number. she promised to escalate the case to Telkom for cancellation and refund immediately and that i should phone Telkom in about four days to make sure that they have done the cancellation and to ask about the refund. I waited a week, as 4 days seemed a bit fast for a company like Telkom, and they told me that there has been no cancellation order sent as yet.

I phoned again on the 30th of January 2017 at 10:50 as i had just had another double payment go off, and again spoke to Lerato who told me that she had escalated the caselast time, but that she will do so again. She told me that I must phone Telkom again in a few days to follow up. i insisted on speaking to a supervisor or manager, she told me that it is not possible, but she will give them my number and ask them to contact me. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THAT CALL.

Today, I phoned Telkom again. I spoke to Phakiso who informed me that there is still no cancellation order and that i should follow up with mobile talk. I phoned Mobile Talk at 10:40 again spoke to Lerato, who told me that she had escalated the case for refund and she is not sure why it is not settled. I insisted again in talking to a manager as i did not want to verbally abuse her, but Lerato would not put me through and again promised to let them phone me.

iI told them that i will be typing a complaint on hellopeter and that they should phone me before i press enter in order to prevent this report from being published. they obviously do not care about their customers or their reputation as, one hour and ten minutes later...no call.

So far, i am owed R1496.00.
