Mobile Talk Also known as T-Connect - Horrible to none-existing service, no one answering help lines.

I tried to upgrade my ADSL line with Telkom, they said my area does not support the next level up speed, so I said thanks. Literally a few hours later the same day, I received a call from Mobile Talk or T-Connect (Reference number mentions T-Connect in SMS I received and telephone number in same SMS belongs to Mobile Talk, 0 ********** ) They phoned me stating my details such as physical address, telephone number (All to which I never gave them) and sold me an LTE Internet package of unbelievable speed and very low price (Uncapped LTE with a speed of 90mbps and under R999-00pm for contract period of 24x months) I app**** for the package as I am desperate for stable and faster Internet where our office are situated, ADSL from Telkom just does not work for us anymore.

I waited less than 1-week for the delivery of the LTE router and SIMM card, I was very excited. I set everything up, to find out I had no signal, I phoned them and they stated I had to wait 48-hours for activation. Not very happy, I accepted the outcome and waited 48-hours. Since then, it had been 2-weeks, I eventually came through to their none-existing technical support, I explained my situation. They explained to me they are experiencing technical difficulties activating new subscriptions. They asked me to phone Telkom directly to have my LTE Sim-card activated. I did this, Telkom too m y SIMM card number and said they were escalating the problem. 3-days later, I received an SMS stating my T-connect service had been activated. I wondered who T-Connect was, as I was dealing with Mobile Talk. I made the assumption thinking this might be the LTE Internet, I went to the router, switched it on and I had signal, I was so happy I couldn’t describe the feeling. On further inspection my signal said it was on 2G, with 2-3-bar strength. This was not good at all, When Mobile Talk / T-Connect sold me the product they did a feasibility check on my area before selling the product to me, and they said I was in the middle of their service, the service was supposed to work.

I had to phone Telkom again (Every time there was a major issue, I had to phone Telkom - so I phoned Telkom again) Telkom said they would have to send out a technician to come to site and have a look at it for me. To me it was clear, no matter where I place this unit, how hard I ***** the two antennas in to the LTE router, the outcome was the same, 2-G Internet jumping between 2-3 bars of signal. I phones Mobile Talk / T-Connect again, I explained my story to them, they told me if I don't have LTE signal, there is no way the LTE router would work, it HAD to have LTE signal, nothing else, and these were their words.

So now we are in stale mate, They said I would not have Internet as I don’t have at least LTE signal, anything below LTE would not work, I Don’t have any Internet connectivity, I can however send SMS's from the router (TO check if the connectivity is there) which worked, but nothing else, no Internet, nothing.

It had been more than 2-months, I still don’t have Internet, no one phoned me, not one had contacted me regarding all the calls I had logged. When I phone them, for the last 1-week or so, I keep holding on for about 5-minutes minimum, it would sound like someone had picked up the phone, but then when you start to talk, no one talks back. There is just no way for me to get hold of them. Before writing this mail, I tried 5-times again to try and phone them, every time I hold on for a minimum of 5-minutes (Longest time roughly 10-minutes) It would sound like someone picks the phone up, you start talking, and no one talks back. At times you can hear back ground noises, but then it would mute to absolute silence. No on hold music, no one talking, and nothing. I tried this from my cell phone, nothing, the same thing.

I am sitting with a 24-month contract for LTE 90MB speed to which I have not used for 2-seconds in data time, I have not used even 10kb of Internet CAP. I can’t get hold of the people who sold it to me, all this started because I wanted to upgrade my Telkom line which according to Telkom was not possible, how did Mobile Talk / T-Connect get my details?

I want to warn anyone who is considering using them as an ISP, do NOT take anything from these people, I don't even know how I am going to get out of the contract. I am still trying to get hold of them:

They go by the name(s) Mobile Talk - or T-Connect, and their number is 0 ********** . I have learned a very important lesson, from now on I will be phoning anyone's support number to measure the calibre of people that would be giving me service.

I just phoned them again before posting this to make sure they are not answering their phones, and that I have the correct number 0 ********** , and it is all still not working.

Hope this message helps someone.
