Ongoing Delay in Updating Paid-Up Account – Over 6 Months with No Resolution

I have been trying to get Mobicred to update my credit profile for over six months now, with no success. Despite numerous calls and email follow-ups, my account – which was paid up over 7 months ago – still reflects negatively on my credit record.

Each time I call or email, I’m told the matter has been escalated, but nothing changes. This delay is now affecting my financial standing and my ability to access other credit facilities.

I am extremely frustrated by the lack of action and proper communication. I am now escalating this matter publicly in hopes that it will finally be resolved. I am requesting that Mobicred immediately update my credit status with the relevant credit bureaus and confirm in writing once done.

Hi Mobicred,
Your response on 29 April noted that an agent would be in touch, but as of today, I have still received no resolution — not even the paid-up letter I’ve been requesting for over 6 months.
You’ve acknowledged the issue is on your side, yet you continue to blame delays on the accounts department. I find it unacceptable that internal delays are allowed to affect a customer’s credit record for this long.
All I’ve asked for is a paid-up letter and for you to update the credit bureaus, which should not take this long if the account is truly settled.
Please treat this with urgency. I expect feedback and a final resolution within the next 48 hours.

It’s now been well over 7 months since my account was paid up, and over 3 weeks since your last public response promising that someone would be in touch. No one has contacted me, and nothing has been resolved.
You have failed to:
  • Issue the paid-up letter I’ve repeatedly requested,
  • Update my credit status with the relevant bureaus, and
  • Provide any clear communication or timeline for resolution.
Your continued delays are negatively impacting my financial standing, despite this being entirely your responsibility. Internal department issues do not excuse the failure to uphold your obligations to a customer. I’m now formally requesting:
  1. A written paid-up letter sent to my email,
  2. Confirmation that my profile has been updated with all credit bureaus, and
  3. A reference or proof of these actions, provided within 48 hours.
If I do not receive this, I will escalate this matter to the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and consider laying a complaint with the Credit Ombud, as well as taking further legal advice on the damage caused.
