Mmu Motors

Well, let me tell you a story about a local enterprise, there's one in every town, no matter what its size.

I flew all the way from Cape Town to pick up the car that I was promised to be in flawless condition. When I arrived in Klerksdorp at MMU motors and saw the car, I was even more convinced.

When we arrive, everyone seemed to be bust to care for us. The service was so terrible, they could not give us water when I asked.

Long story short... I had already signed the contract, we took delivery of the car... When we were driving back to Cape Town, the front-left got flat. I filled it up and we continued the journey all the way to Cape Town, 2 weeks later, the same tire got flat again.

I went to TygerWheel &tyre and they told me that both tires are not run-flat tires. The only run-flat is the rear tires, they two are already worn out and needed to be replaced.

In essence, all for tires on a car I've been driving for 2 weeks needed to be replaced. I took the to BMW and BMW did a quick check and told me that the car was at some point resprayed and advised that I take the car to DEKRA Automotive South Africa for further assessment. DEKRA also confirmed that the car was resprayed and 2 tires were not run-flat and the run-flat were also worn out and therefore, all tires needed to be replaced.

So all tires need to be replaced for a car I'barely driven in the past two weeks. Is this far? Mind you, these are expensive. MMU motors would not accept this report and told me to take the car to BMW

BMW did a quality assessment and came to the same conclusion. >1 tires not run-flat. > both 2 run-flat are worn-out and need to be replaced. >Windscreen needs to be replaced.

When we were at the dealer, I asked for the spare keys and I was told that they would be couriered to me within that same week, it's been 2 months and I'm yet to receive the spare keys.

Now they promised to resolve the issue after I fille a complaint with MFC(this is Nedbank)

Since this promise, they promised to fix the tire issue; Mondays become Wednesdays, Wednesdays are Thursdays, then Friday and Friday is a promise for Monday.. we repeat this loop for the past 3 weeks with no results.

The car is parked but I'm paying for it. The same tire keeps going flat. I drive somewhere, park it, in the morning it's flat.

They would not access the Dekra report and told me to go get a report from BMW and BMW recommend all tires to be replaced.

They only want to replace two tires.

Is it fair that I replace tires, only 2 weeks after I've taken ownership of the car? If this car mysteriously disappears, insurance might not pay because someone out there has the spare key

I was told just this past week that this would be resolved on Wed or Thurs and on Fri there was silence.

It seems that I have no choice but to involve lawyers.

If you've also experienced this kind of service with the said dealer, please contact me on https://chat.whatsapp.com/IPln48nQciMHrd4Tr6n2vR

Yours in the struggle
