Matrix Beam-e — billed for vehicles I don't own

I have had an appalling experience with Matrix Beam-e and I am posting this so other customers know what to expect.

I returned an Isuzu X-Rider (CF306256) to the dealer and fitted a Matrix unit to my replacement Isuzu bakkie (CF.....). During that call, the consultant expressly confirmed the unit on the returned vehicle had been cancelled and the new unit was active. I even asked whether the old physical unit needed to be removed and was told it did not, because the units are virtual. I re**** on that confirmation.

Despite this, I was billed R139 per month for both vehicles. I disputed it in writing. I was bounced from Credit Control to the Cancellations Department with no resolution.

Then it got worse. On 15 September 2026 my account was debited R300 AGAIN, for two vehicles. When I phoned the call centre, I was told their system shows THREE vehicles under my name, including a Hyundai Santa Fe I traded in FOUR YEARS AGO.

So Matrix Beam-e is billing me for a vehicle I returned, and a vehicle I have not owned for four years. This is not a small admin slip. It is a company taking money by debit order for services on vehicles that are not mine, failing to action a cancellation its own consultant confirmed, and passing customers between departments instead of fixing the problem.

I have given them a clear cancellation instruction, requested reversal of every charge raised in error, and made every reasonable effort to resolve this. Under the Consumer Protection Act I am entitled not to be charged for services I cancelled and did not receive, and to a refund of amounts debited in error.

If you are considering Matrix Beam-e, check your statements every single month. Based on my experience their billing cannot be trusted.

I am escalating this to the National Consumer Commission and disputing the unauthorised debits with my bank.
