How to Cancel a Subscription (and Your Will to Live): A Customer’s Journey Through Beame’s Maze of Madness

I’ve had the rare privilege of being one of Beame’s customers — a life experience I’ll treasure about as much as a flat tyre in the rain.

On 15 October, I sent an email requesting that my subscription be cancelled immediately. I received an automated reply (how personal!) promising that my request would be “attended to.” I assumed this meant by an actual person. Silly me.

Days passed. Nothing. So today, in a moment of reckless optimism, I decided to phone your customer service line. I chose the “Cancel Subscription” option — a trapdoor, apparently — and after five glorious seconds of hold music, the call dropped. How convenient.

Undeterred, I called back. After a scenic ten-minute tour through your IVR labyrinth (a true monument to human endurance), I began to suspect there are no actual humans employed at your company. Just as I was about to lose hope, I found one! Sadly, the wrong one. They transferred me. Then another wrong one. Then another. It’s like musical chairs, but without the fun or music.

Eventually, I reached someone who claimed to be able to help. I repeated all my details, only to be told that my subscription can only be cancelled on 16 November 2025. I had to check the calendar — apparently, “immediate” means next year in your world.

After more back-and-forth than a tennis final, it was finally agreed that the subscription would be cancelled. But of course, you’ll still process the debit order. Because why let fairness ruin a perfectly one-sided relationship?

So here I am, trapped in the twilight zone of “customer service,” wondering if Beame’s cancellation policy was designed by Kafka on a bad day. If your goal was to make cancelling feel like an emotional endurance test — congratulations, you’ve absolutely nailed it.

How refreshing — the legendary “we’ll investigate and revert.” A timeless classic. It’s almost comforting how every company seems to keep this line in a copy-and-paste folder marked “Customer Delays.”
Let’s be honest: this isn’t a response, it’s a placeholder designed to make your stats look tidy while nothing actually happens behind the scenes. Bravo on the swift illusion of engagement — 10 out of 10 for presentation, zero for substance.

So, before we enter another episode of The Waiting Game, could someone with a pulse please provide a real update? Not a “ticket number,” not a “we’re looking into it,” but an actual, specific answer from a living, breathing human being.

Because at this point, I’m beginning to wonder if “we’ll revert” just means “we hope you eventually give up.”

Please note that we have contacted the account holder and confirmed that the contract was terminated on 28 October 2025. There will be no further debits, as the last debit was processed on 1 October 2025.

We trust this clarifies the matter.

Kind regards,

Well, what do you know — everything’s suddenly “resolved.” It’s truly amazing how quickly things get done once a customer completely loses their cool. Almost as if frustration is the only working escalation channel in your company.

I suppose I should be grateful that finally someone located the “do your job” button. Shame it only seems to activate after a public meltdown.

Perhaps next time I’ll skip the polite emails and just fast-track straight to outrage — clearly, that’s the secret to efficient service.
