Empty promises from Mix Telematics / Matrix

I have sold my vehicle and instructed Matrix by e-mail on the 2nd of June 2016 to cancel my subscription on the 30th of June 2016. I received confirmation from Matrix confirming this and was allocated a case number, ********** 3.

I contacted their accounts department in the middle of June 2016 confirming if my subscription will indeed be cancelled by the 30th of June 2016; this was confirmed telephonically by Matrix.

I received an Invoice from Matrix on the 29th of June 2016 for July 2016 subscription fees. On the 30th of June 2016 I’ve send an e-mail to Matrix’s accounts department querying the invoice. On the 4th of July 2016 I received an e-mail from Portia Memela, Credit Controller Administrator, reading as follow: “Good day, Please be advised that July is notice month so you liable to pay.” This I accepted.

On the 1st of August 2016 another premium was deducted from my account, I queried this and instructed Matrix to refund me the R179.00 premium; July was my notice month why do I need to pay for August 2016? I received a read receipt of this e-mail on the 2nd of August 2016 from Christel Harmse.

I did not receive any feedback from Matrix. On the 8th of August 2016 I contacted their accounts department they confirmed that the premium was indeed deducted incorrectly and that I will be refunded in the next 7 to 10 business days. I was given a new case number ********** 7

On the 30th of August 2016 I contacted Matrix again querying my refund, I was informed that this will be done on the 2nd of September 2016 and a new case number ********** 6 was allocated to me.

It is now the 6th of September 2016 and I am still waiting for my refund.

This is not about the money but the principal and therefor my persistence to get back my R179.00
