Cancelation

I have contacted them end of April to find out which contract I have. They have said a month to month contract. I can cancel without a cancelation fee. So I gave my 30 day notice. Shortly after that I have received an email saying I have a cancelation fee. I have being trying to phone them. With no answer. I submitted a query so that they can phone me. After a few hours they phoned saying I have a 3 year contract. It's unacceptable to first say month to month and then all of a sudden 3 year contract. I have been trying to reach them numerous times with no one answering or contacting me back after requesting a call back.
