BEYOND DISHONEST
I have been forced to give them a 1 star when I want to give them nothing. I am truly disgusted how dishonest Mix Telematics / Matrix is as a company and these are the people who we entrust with the safe keeping of our cars!! Received a call in January from a Siyabonga, who “sold” me a subscription for a Matrix. I informed him that I already had a tracking system in my car and that I would first have to cancel that subscription before I could agree to their subscription. NO problem he promised me, they will cancel the subscription with this other company for me, so there would be no hassle for me to then get their system. Well who can turn down that offer?? So I agreed to it and my first subscription went off on the 1st February. A few months later and I happened to see my subscription for the other system go off my account, so I investigated this and saw that my subscription had never been cancelled and it was still going off. I then phoned Mix Telematics / Matrix and spoke to a Luwando Mateyisi. I told him what had happened and that I wanted Mix Telematics / Matrix to refund me for the months that my subscription has gone off because they had not cancelled it. Luwando then informed me that they contract out their call centre for sales and that they were not responsible for what Siyabonga had told me?? My question is thus this, you contract out to a dishonest company and then you deny all liability for their lies, so who is responsible. Luwando assured me that he would listen to the recording and get back to me, well that was in May and tomorrow is the 1st August. Because of their dishonesty I wanted to cancel my subscription with Mix Telematics / Matrix on principle, so I requested that my contract me cancelled only to be sent an email informing me that to cancel my contract with Mix Telematics / Matrix it would cost me R3479 to cancel. As a consumer I am beyond disgusted that I was blatantly **** to about them cancelling my subscription because I have consequently learned that they cannot cancel a subscription for me because of the POPI Act and now I am stuck in this contract with the company that allows another company to lie on their behalf to get clients. If this is how businesses are operating in South African then there is no hope for us as a country.
