Absolutely predatory behaviour

I was shopping around for a vehicle tracker. They called me back, and asked whether I gave them permission to debit my account. I asked if there was a contract, and they said that my voice on the call was enough. I still wanted terms. They said they would sent a contract after the call, and that I'd have 7 days to read over the terms.

The contract says a number of things that I was not told on the phone: that the contract is 3 years; that cancelling between 0-6 months bears almost a full years' fees of penalties; and that the company, should they try to recover my vehicle, is indemnified from any damage to it, any injury to me, my family or any other occupants of the vehicle, and may not actually recover the vehicle anyway. At that point, what's the point of having a tracker anyway? I emailed to tell them ****erally an hour after the call) that I don't agree to the terms, and that I don't want a tracker installed.

Radio silence afterwards.

They are super quick to bully you into signing up for the service before being able to fully read the terms, and should you not agree to the terms they seem to do everything they can to delay cancellation and force you to pay penalties. It's the definition of ****my behaviour. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the money they make is off of locking people into contracts verbally without giving them the chance to read the actual terms. Stay well away!
