A shocking disregard for customer service.
Several weeks ago I purchased a car from a dealer. The dealer did their part and gave me tracker options so I requested a Marix unit be fitted. Due to Matrix and Beam-e being basically the same company, there was a mix up and the previous owners Beam-e unit was transferred over to me. This was an accident, so no harm, no foul. The issue arose when trying to get hold of them to install the correct unit. The original transfer had all the vehicle details incorrect to start with, this took 3 days to rectify and was actually the reason i picked up that i had the wrong unit. After requesting the correct unit be fitted I heard absolutely nothing back from Matrix for over a week. Eventually the dealer got in touch with the regional manager for me and the correct unit was fitted on the same day. The Matrix unit includes a hardwired Matrix tracker as well as a battery powered Beam-e unit. The old Beam-e was left in the car and that was the exact moment I knew a mess up was coming. The old unit was registered on the temp reg, and by the time the new unit was installed, I had gotten my shiny new number plates, so the new Matrix Unit and Beam-e unit was registered to the new Reg. Today I recieved my first statement from them and lo and behold, I've been billed for both the correct Matrix unit as well as the Beame-unit from the previous owner that I was never supposed to have had to begin with. All billed Pro-rata plus the coming month, so my bill is at this point almost double what it should have been. Naturally, I immediately contacted the call center, dialled the option for accounts, was answered within 10 seconds and was told they are unable to fix this and I woiuld have to speak to cancellations. The agent transfered me to cancellations and this is where the nightmare truly began.. After 10 Minutes of listening to the most ********** hold music played on a 5 second loop (I am 100% sure this is intentional), I pressed red and dialed again. This time selecting the option for cancellations. I am now blessed with 15 more minutes of the same 5 second loop of horror. I once again pressed red, thinking (or hoping) that perhaps they just all decided to take lunch together. Several hours later I found the strength to try again and was rewarded for my efforts with yet another 12 minutes of hell. This time on speaker for the whole company to enjoy. I hang up and try one more time. 8 more minutes of torture on repeat and i decided to try accounts again. Call answered in under 5 seconds. Once again being told the only way to rectify the issue is to call cancellations and that the agent would transfer me. I stated that no one is answering the phone in the cancellations department and asked if there was any other way to get help. All the agent had to saw was that i must email the cancellations department on the email address that is on my statement. On a friday. At 4pm (My calls started at about 10am). So now we have no resolution until next week if I am lucky. If I'm smart, at this point, I'll cancell everything and just get in touch with a different company. I mean honestly, trying to deal with Matrix is on a par with trying to cancel a Telkom landline.
