It is 4am on Tues. 22 Aug'23 and my 65 year old mom has been sitting in the waiting room of the emergency unit of the Mitchell's Plain District Hospital since 1pm yesterday. After a "mix up" with the folders, she was attended to for observations by a very efficient nurse and not long after that, a caring doctor who at 7pm last night told us my mom would be admitted. SHE IS STILL WAITING!!! She was made to sleepn in a chair in the waiting room all night. When she first went to the hospital 2 months ago with the same ailment, she was sent home without having been seen to correctly and unfortunately had to go back for the same issue. It was quite refreshing to have been seen to this time by a nurse and doctor who were quite caring and efficient. But has soon as they had left, it seems my mom was completely forgotten about. This is
